Providing Scouting to the Young People of North Lancashire

St George's Day Parade 2008

On a glorious Spring evening Scouts from around the District assembled at Morecambe Town Hall prior to marching to the Central Methodist Church for their annual service and renewal of promises.

A large congregation filled the church and after the presentation of flags and singing of hymns the Rev. Gary Ingram gave an interesting and inspiring talk on the life of our patron saint St George and what he stood for.

Presentations of Chief Scout's and other Awards took place at the close of the service.

Thank you all - you were wonderful, uniforms were great, flags in abundance and so many people turned up I am really pleased.   

We reckon about 400 from what the church reps said the church can hold and it was full to the gills.   We raised £210.10  and 5 cents for the Lifeboat fund and this will be presented shortly.  Well done all - was it the sunshine that helped or are we really enjoying shouting for our
Scouting!       I hope it means we are really enjoying being proud of our Movement - there was quite a lot in the national press over the last few days about increased recruitment numbers and  it is so good to have good news. 

Keep it up, I am proud of you all.
