Chief Scout's Commendation

Lancaster Guardian, 28th July 1917

Scouting Notes:-

The Chief Scout has forwarded the following letter of commendation for work done in connection with the local waste-paper and egg collections, to the S-M's of the 4th, 5th and 7th Lancaster Troops: "I have been so glad to read the report of good war work done by the 4th, 5th and 7th Lancaster Troops since the beginning of the war. Sixty-two tons of paper takes a lot of collecting, and so do sixty thousand eggs, but you have done it, and I hope will do a lot more before the war ends. Best of all, it shows that you have got the right spirit and 'go' in you. Stick to it and carry on. You will all of you be proud, years from now, to feel that though boys you did your bit in the Great War.

(Signed) Robert Baden-Powell"
