Brian Ager

Earlier today we received the very sad news that Brian Ager suddenly passed away yesterday aged 74.
Brian was known to many of us for his work as Treasurer for many years for Littledale and Silverhelme Campsites, but his involvement with Scouting stretches over many years.
Brian was appointed as an Assistant Scout Leader in 1954 in the District of Sittingbourne and Milton, an appointment he held until moving to Hertfordshire in 1959 to the District of West Herts where he continued his work with the Scout Section.
In 1979 he moved to West Lancashire and Lonsdale District to begin his long association with us as a Scout Leader at 1st Silverdale (St. Johns), re-starting the group after many years, working closely with fellow leader and friend John Holland.
In 1987 Brian was awarded the Long Service Decoration for 15 Years Service and in 2002 in recognition of his commitment he was awarded the Chief Scouts Commendation for Good Service.
Many of Brian's friends and colleagues will wish to pay their respects and as soon as we have details of funeral arrangements we will post them to the website.
Our thoughts, best wishes and prayers are undoubtedly with Brian's family at the time.
Yours in Scouting
Craig Dewar
District Explorer Scout Commissioner
