Scoutmaster Weds Cub Mistress

MR. DAVID METCALFE, scoutmaster of the 13th Lancaster Scouts, was married at St. Joseph’s Church, Skerton, on Saturday. His bride was Miss Christine Mary Thompson Cub mistress of the 13th Lancaster Scouts.

The bridegroom is the only son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Metcalfe, of Victoria Avenue, Lancaster, and the bride is second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. Thompson of Blades Street, Lancaster.

Given away by her mother, the bride wore a dress of navy silk with a pink feathered hat and accessories. She carried a spray of pink roses.

Miss T. Thompson, sister of the bride, was bridesmaid. She wore a cyclamen pink dress with navy blue accessories and carried a white spray of flowers.

Best man was Mr. Roger Hunt and Mr. Donald Wilkinson was groomsman.

The service was conducted by the Rev. B. Lockwood.

After a reception at the Moorlands Hotel, Lancaster, the couple left for their honeymoon on the Fylde Coast. The bride travelled in a navy dress with camel haired coat and blue hat.
