Lancashire Evening Post 20 November 1933

Major R.C. Matthews, commanding the Bowerham depot of the King’s Own Royal Regiment, and Colonel L. I. Cowper, commanding the 5th Battalion King’s Own Regiment, were amongst those present at the remembrance service in St. John’s Church, Ellel, near Lancaster, yesterday, attended by Boy Scouts, Girl Guides and a large contingent of ex-Servicemen, who paraded under Captain John Sanderson.

The singing was accompanied by the band of the 5th Battalion King’s Own Royal Regiment, conducted by Captain W. H. Morge, and the sermon was preached by the vicar the Rev. H.A. Coleman.
