Beaver Scouts are young people usually aged between 6 and 8 years old. They belong to the first and youngest Section in the Scouting family. Young people can join Beaver Scouts in the three months leading up to their sixth birthday. They can move to the next Section, Cub Scouts, between 8 and 8½ years of age.

Parents Guide to Beavers

ADVENTURE DAY at GUYS FARM, FORTON

Saturday May 12th 2018 from 10am – 4pm Cost £10 per BEAVER
Optional extra -transport to and from Guys Farm £5 per person (if your Group is likely to want transport please let me know asap so I can provisionally book a coach).
 
Beaver activities will include Climbing or Archery (if numbers are high) , bouldering, assault course, backwoods cooking, orienteering, pond dipping, bug hunting and gyro cars etc.

You will be expected to provide a 1 adult :6 child ratio for this event . Many activities will be self led.

If you wish to take part in this exciting event please return the cut off slip at the bottom of the letter below along with your payment to Mandy Seddon at 6 The Hawthorns, Lancaster LA1 4PJ (cheques should be payable to Lonsdale District Scout Council) or bring your money and forms to the Beaver Leaders’ Meeting Monday 30th April at DHQ 7.30-9 pm.

May Adventure Day 2018

Beaver Scouts became a part of The Scout Association officially in 1986 and so 2016 marks their 30th anniversary. There was an article in the local newspaper back in 1986 reporting on “Lancaster’s first colony”. Click here to read the article.
