Calling all 18-25s, due to the cancellation of reconnected we have decided to have a Network Splash Weekend over the weekend of 27th -29th August 2021. Details to follow

Scout Network is the fifth and final section of the Scouting movement. From the time of Baden-Powell, there have been arrangements for young people who wanted to continue after their time in the Scout Section, and in 1967, Venture Scouts were formed from the existing Senior Scout and Rover Scout Sections.

During the late 1990s it was decided that, to meet the changing needs of young people, there should be two sections for the over-14s: Explorer Scouts for 14 to 18-year-olds, and the Scout Network for 18 to 25s.

Basics

Scout Network allows 18 to 25 year-olds who have an interest in both Scouting and their own personal development, and ultimately want to have fun, the opportunity to do so.

Activities

Scout Network members take part in a variety of activities, which they undertake and organise themselves with the support of a Scout Network Leader.

Example activities include:

Abseiling, award work, bowling, camping, circus skills, climbing, cooking, games, go-karting, gorge walking, hiking, pioneering, shooting and watersports.

Joining

Young adults aged between 18 and 25 are eligible to register as Scout Network members. To find details of your nearest Scout Network, click the ‘join’ link at the top of this page, or contact the Information Centre at info.centre@scouts.org.uk.

Moving

If you’re moving away from home, for example to go to university, you can carry on Scouting through Scout Network (or as an adult volunteer) by informing your County Commissioner or similar that you are relocating. They will be able to put you in contact with the County Commissioner for the area you are moving to and pass them your details.

Another option is SSAGO, the Student Scout and Guide Organisation.

SSAGO has branches at many universities and is open to all students at university or higher education college in the UK.
