To: – All members of Lonsdale District Scout Council
Appointment of District Commissioner
I am delighted to be able to confirm that Craig Dewar has accepted my offer and I have therefore appointed him as our new DC for Lonsdale for the next five years. The handover period will commence immediately in readiness for him taking the reins on 4th July at the District AGM.
Craig is very well known in the District and has held various roles including his current Deputy District Commissioner position. He has a breadth of scouting knowledge built up not only in Lonsdale, but through his involvement across the County and in the national Scout Association. This coupled with his professional experience equip him well for the role.
I would also like to publically thank our search committee. Under Terry Bond’s leadership they have undertaken their duties with discretion and professionalism and I am particularly grateful for that.
Finally, can I once again thank Pat Griffin for her steadfast commitment to the DC’s role over many years. Her cheerful determination and personal example have earned the respect of all who meet her and she has been a tremendous ambassador for scouting. Thankfully she will not be lost to Lonsdale District and I am grateful that we will retain her experience.
I look forward to seeing many of you when I join you at the District AGM in July.
With best wishes
West Lancashire County Scout Council
