Campsite Rules

NOT ALLOWED:

  • No Dogs, other than assistance dogs, allowed on site
  • No Smoking or Vaping on site
  • Caravans and Motor homes are not allowed on the campsite.

GENERAL RULES:

  • Camps should be conducted in accordance with normal Scouting standards.
  • Please observe quiet after 2300 Hrs.
  • All groups must carry basic First Aid requirements.
  • Vehicles must be kept in the car parks. They must not go on the main field and must not be parked on the roadside by the top fields.
  • Toilet and Shower block should be kept and left in a clean condition please.
  • Do not climb any walls or fences.
  • There are dangerous cliffs on both Camp Sites. All Leaders to ensure that your campers not to wander off on their own and to take care when near the cliffs.
  • Most of the damage is found to be in or around the Lodge. Beds and dormitories are to be used only for sleeping and quiet activities, not for boisterous games. Leaders must ensure that people are not disturbed at night.
  • Any damage done will be charged for.
  • Standing timber must not be cut.
  • Backwoods shelters must not be built, but survival shelters using plastic are encouraged.
  • Digging of waste pits is prohibited.
  • Non-burnable rubbish should be bagged & placed in the skip by main gate.

ADDITIONAL RULES FOR LITTLEDALE:

  • Fires are only allowed using the altar fires provided.
  • Wet pits, dry pits or fire places must not be dug on any of the camping areas.
  • Stone throwing into the beck will not be tolerated. Leaders please note, part of the beck can be dangerous in certain conditions.

ADDITIONAL RULES FOR SILVERHELME:

  • SilverHelme is a biological heritage site ‑ wood piles that are marked with a yellow post & ‘do not use’ sign are habitat piles & must not be disturbed.
  • Ground fires are only allowed in the designated areas.
