St George’s Day, Morecambe 1946

Morecambe and Heysham Visitor and Lancaster Advertiser May 1, 1946

Service for Scouts and Guides

Scouts and Cubs, Guides and Brownies stood and renewed their promises, led by their officers, at a St. George’s Day service for Morecambe companies at Bare Methodist Church on Sunday afternoon. This followed the reciting of the laws by Scoutmaster Fred Driver.

Mr. Henderson Jones, Assistant Scout Commissioner for South-East Lancashire, gave the address and the Rev. R. F. Priestley M.C. conducted the service. Scout Michael Unsworth read the lesson and Mr. A. Raistrick was at the organ. A collection for the Scout Convalescent Home brought in £3 10s.

The Scouts and Guides were interested in the christening of Pauline daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. Geldert.
