With sadness, we have learned of the death of Peter Hewitt, a former District Chair and District President of Lonsdale District Scouts who was a towering and hugely influential figure in the District for decades.
He is remembered with fondness by all who knew him, for his commitment and dedication to Scouting and, as a true follower of the promise, always doing his best.
Peter was awarded the Silver Wolf, for services to Scouting of the most exceptional nature. An award which he deserved many times over.
Our thoughts are with his family and friends.
Following a private cremation, a service of celebration will take place at St Paul’s Church, Scotforth on Wednesday 14th September at 11am. Any donations are to Lonsdale District Scouts, c/o the Funeral Director Preston Ireland Bowker, Queen St, Lancaster.
