#Race Round The World

I have been asked by HQ to push the Race around the World event in the District. The money raised will go towards helping some of the Groups that are the struggling the most and hopefully avoid them closing.

The target is to raise over £300,000 for the 500+ Groups at risk of closing. Once you’re all signed up and raring to go, go, go, simply:

1. Travel a mile or more (you don’t have to physically complete your miles – have a look at other fun activities you could try)
2. Get sponsored
3. Log your miles (and help your team get all the way round the world!)
4. Tag us with #RaceRoundTheWorld on social media to show us how you’re doing (and help spread the word far and wide!)

Everyone can join in. Even if your Scout Group is not taking part, you can join in at home. Please note, you must be 13 or over to setup a fundraising page. If you’re younger, parents/carers will need to do this on your behalf.

Why not set up a team page and encourage the parents to join in ?

Set up a team page

If you’d like to raise money as a team – perhaps with your section, family, friends or colleagues – this is what you need to do:

Click on the link to register
Fill in your own details
Fill in the Group or Unit name you want 20% of the funds you raise to go towards (optional)
Click on the button to create a team
Give your team a name
Invite other people to join your team by putting in their email addresses – they’ll automatically get an email with a link to join your team (fear not: if you don’t have their email addresses to hand you can email them a link of your team later!)
Click on the button to complete your registration
Personalise your own fundraising page by uploading a photo
Share your page with friends and family

Please can you promote this event throughout your Groups and sections.

Many thanks
