Canoe and Kayak Skills

Explorer Scouts, do you want to improve your canoe and kayak skills and work towards a 2* or 3* Award ….. And have fun?? This is for you

Explorer Leaders Stuart Lockton and Tom Armistead will be leading a course of canoe and kayak skills coaching in Spring this year. The dates are below. We are looking for between 8 and 16 Explorers to join a group of trainees – you won’t need to attend every session, but you should be able to get to perhaps at least 6 of the following sessions, plus the assessment session on 8th June.

There will be a cost of £5 per session paid per session, plus a BCU certification fee of approx £7, alternatively you can pay a total cost £50 in advance which will cover everything (the cost of this coaching on a commercial basis would be at least £300 per head) .

All sessions will be from 10am to 4pm, most will be based at 33rd at Skerton, but some will be at other venues including on Windermere and some river trips .

The intention will be that everyone will be sufficiently skilled to obtain the BCU 2* award, and some the 3* award, by the end of the sessions.

If you want to join this group e-mail Stuart Lockton to ask to join before 28th February.
