Dear All,

Re: Appointment of Group Scout Leader – 33rd Lancaster Scout Group

I am delighted to inform you that I have appointed Hazel Sharples as the Group Scout Leader at 33rd Lancaster Scout Group. Hazel will be known to all of you as the Assistant Group Scout Leader and through her long involvement with the Group as a parent and supporter. Hazel is passionate about 33rd Lancaster and its future success. She brings a wealth of experience from outside Scouting and is well placed to lead the group.

I’d also like to thank James Croker, for his leadership of the Group as Group Scout Leader. James’ passion and commitment to the Group has ensured that the Group has enjoyed a period of membership growth in recent years.

I have already met with Hazel to discuss the following priorities for the Group in the coming months:
• Review all leaders’ training, ensuring that everyone has a personal learning plan.
• Ensure that all young leaders are registered and able to access training.
• Work with leaders to get Nights Away Permits.
• Engage with parents and others, to recruit more adults to support the group.

33rd Lancaster is in a strong position to move forward, it has a dedicated team of adults and a wonderful programme. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for all that you do, and encourage you to continue to work together, to support Hazel, to grow the Group and offer more exciting opportunities to young people and adults.

Finally, I’d like to wish you all the very best for the Christmas season and all the very best for 2017.

Yours in Scouting,

DC

District Commissioner
