GSL, 35th Lancaster Scout Group

Appointment of a New Group Scout Leader: 35th Lancaster (St Joseph’s)

After an incredible tenure as Group Scout Leader at 35th Lancaster, Mandy Sweet has decided that now is the right time for her to hand over the reins to enable her to focus on her new role as Deputy District Commissioner.

Without a doubt, Mandy has been an exceptional Group Scout Leader, and the Group is now a model of best practice, and an example of how fantastic Scouting can really make a difference in the community. We are truly grateful for Mandy’s leadership of the Group. She leaves the Group happy and healthy, with a very bright future ahead.

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Dan Rawes, as the new Group Scout Leader – effective immediately. As the Scout Leader, Assistant Group Scout Leader and a District Scout Leader, Dan is well
positioned to support the continued development of the Group. We know he will do a fantastic job, and we are sure you will join with us in congratulating him on his new role.

Andrew will be meeting with Dan in the coming weeks, to agree some initial priorities and to identify ways in which the District may be able to support.

In the meantime, thank you all at 35th Lancaster for your part in the success of the Group, and we wish you a wonderful year of Scouting in 2018.

We hope that these initiatives will further support our Scout Groups, Explorer Scout Units and Scout Network as we continue to focus on ensuring our programme is the very best that it can be, and that Scouting is accessible to all.

With best wishes for 2018,

Craig Dewar
District Commissioner

Andrew Blenkinship
