Local scouts win Helme swim shield

Lancaster boy scouts on Saturday night won the Helmer shield out to the northwest Lancashire county of boy scouts 12th annual swimming competition at blackpool.  Scoring and 19 ½ points, from the 13 events.  The shield was presented to the Lancaster team by Mister J. Dodds Drummond, county scout commissioner and headmaster of the Lancaster friends of school.

Members of the Lancaster team included Dep C, and Johns, Cal keld, and Johnson, Moffat, Edmondson, Mason, fish year, brown, in gold and Atkinson.

The last occasion Lancaster won the shield was four years ago.
