Sea Scouts

Morecambe Guardian 30 June 1933:

The GSM of the 5th Morecambe and Heysham Sea Scouts, Mr.  E. Wilson, has been successful in passing the Wood Badge tests. The Wood Badge, one of the rarest among Scouters, is very difficult to obtain.

The tests cover every branch of Scouting, including woodcraft, tracking, knotting, splicing and bridge building.

Mr. Wilson has also passed part 1 of the Wood Badge Theory Sea Scout Test.

On Monday night, members of the 5th Morecambe Troop of Sea Scouts visited the Marsh, where they built a camp fire, and made twists. C. Bailey was also successful in passing his second class cooking test.

P.-L. Harling, who is one of the Scouts picked to represent Morecambe at the International Rally in Hungary has now passed every test for his first-class, except that of swimming, which he will try for in the near future.
