Voluntary Weekend Wardens

SilverHelme Scout Activity Centre:

Voluntary Weekend Wardens

Exciting Opportunity in this ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’

We are looking to set up a group of voluntary weekend wardens to support Kieron and our existing dedicated team.

Duties will include:

  • Welcoming campers and seeing them to their camp site
  • Assisting the Warden as required
  • Assisting campers throughout the weekend
  • Looking after camp facilities
  • To assist in the shop
  • To help check camp sites and buildings at the end of the weekend and to help with the lock up before leaving.

We are looking for individuals – leaders, Explorer Scouts, Network members etc. who can commit to assist in keeping the site working safely and efficiently. We would be happy with a day, a weekend or a number of days/weekends. There is no time requirement and people can give as much or as little time as they have available. This might not be limited to weekends. We have a group of people who give time during the week and, as there are always jobs to be done, time given at any time is always welcome. No particular skills are required but, obviously, we would welcome people with skills that could be useful on site. However, enthusiasm for the site would be most important.

Those joining the Warden Team would become members of the Lonsdale Crew SASU. On the job training would be given as required.
