Littledale Wardens

Vacancy: Littledale Scout Activity Centre – Volunteer Warden
& Voluntary Weekend Wardens

A number of opportunities have arisen for people interested in developing Littledale Scout Activity Centre and ensuring the highest level of care for our guests.

Activity Centre Warden: We are looking for a dedicated volunteer to be responsible for the
general maintenance and upkeep of the site, ensuring that it is clean and tidy, and maintained to
a high standard. This person will work with the Activity Centre Management Board to co-ordinate
the work of Lonsdale Crew, the cleaner, any assistant wardens and weekend wardens. This
person will work with the Activity Centre Management Board to ensure the site is a safe place for
young people. Accommodation is provided and out of pocket expenses will be paid inline with the
District Expenses Policy.

Assistant Activity Centre Warden(s): We are looking for at least one Assistant Centre
Warden, to support the work of the warden in maintaining and developing the site. This person
will have good practical skills and take pride in their work. They will work well as part of a team
but will also be self motivated. Accommodation is provided and out of pocket expenses will be
paid inline with the District Expenses Policy.

Weekend Wardens: Littledale Scout Activity Centre is busy most weekends with Scout and
Guide Groups as well as private bookings and Duke of Edinburgh Groups. We want to ensure that visitors to Littledale get a warm welcome and have a fantastic stay. To that end, we are looking for individuals, couples and friends to become part of our weekend wardens group. We are looking for people who can sign up to stay at Littledale for 4 or more weekends per year. The weekend warden would be responsible for booking people in on the Friday night, running flag breaks on Saturday and Sunday morning, opening the onsite shop as required, booking in/out activity equipment, and checking out guests on departure. Generally, being on hand for guests throughout their stay. Accommodation is provided and out of pocket expenses will be paid inline with the District Expenses Policy.

If you are interested in any of these opportunities please contact Craig Dewar, the District
Commissioner, in the first instance by email. Please express interest before the 21st June.
An induction meeting will be held at the beginning of July for those interested.
