Morecambe Guardian 03 March 1951

Sea Scouts’ birthday party.

On Saturday the eighteenth birthday party of the 21st Lancaster Sea Scouts, was held in the Scout Hut, Willow Lane, Lancaster. After a tea-meal provided by the group, and prepared by Mesdames Griffies, Cornthwaite, Poole, Rutherford and Miss Rutherford, a birthday cake was cut by Cub Keith Whittle of the 21st Lancaster Cub Pack, assisted by District Cubmaster Mrs. M. Davies.

The District Commissioner Mr. H. Todd, commented on the activities of the Scouts and paid tribute to all concerned. Two new Assistant-Scouters B. Bailey and J. Renninson were welcomed by Scoutmaster W. Rutherford.

Acting Scoutmaster A. Griffies announced that owing to a large number of boys having attained senior age he intended to form an additional (Grenfell) patrol.

Games brought the evening to a successful conclusion.
