St. Mary’s Juniors, romping through the football season without a defeat, added the Junior Cup to their primary school league championship on Tuesday afternoon by beating Trumacar Junior School 3-1 at Woodhill Lane.

Scorers for St. Mary’s, where P. Smyth (2) and C. Veale, and Trumacar’s only goal, scored by Shaw, was only the third goal scored against St. Mary’s Juniors this season. They have gone through the programme of eight matches without a defeat, scoring 32 goals, with only three against.

Seven members of the team, trained by master Mr. Hugh Doherty, are also members of the St. Mary’s Wolf Cub team, which won the Watson Cup recently. The team comprises A. Devlin; D. Aunger, P. Jones; S. Cullen, D. Forzard, A. Spensley; A. Warrington,. S. Doherty, C. Veale, P. Smyth, P. Holden; reserves R. Mulroy, B. Eckersley, I. Banks, D. Taylor and M. Murphy.
