Scouting locally is controlled by the Lancaster Boy Scouts’ Association under District Commissioner W. Briggs and Deputy District Commissioner T. W. Helme, whilst District Scoutmaster R. E. Wright is in charge of all troops in the South Lonsdale District, which is the area over which this Association has control, it being responsible to Imperial Headquarters, London, for the organisation of the following troops: –
4th Lancaster (Wesley),
7th Lancaster (Parish Church),
11th Lancaster (Bulk),
12th Lancaster (St. George’s),
13th Lancaster (Presbyterian),
14th Lancaster (Centenary),
1st Morecambe (St. Laurence’s),
2nd Morecambe,
1st Caton.
In addition to the above there are in process of formation two troops in Morecambe district viz., in connection with St. Mary’s church and St. Christopher’s church. It will be seen that the movement is still thriving and according to reports from various troops, all boys are keen and are doing good work.
